Common questions
Which demand source should I choose?
Sales Orders plans for confirmed orders only; Master Production Schedule plans for your MPS; Forecast uses forecast demand; All Sources combines them. Most make-to-order units start with Sales Orders.
Does MRP create purchase orders by itself?
No. Each shortage comes with a suggested action — Manufacture, Create PR or Create PO — and planning and purchase raise the documents from those suggestions.
Why should I include pending purchase orders?
So material already ordered is not counted as a shortage. Without it MRP suggests buying again what is already on its way.
