Good to know

  • Vendors import the same way from Masters → Vendors → Import Excel (only Vendor Name is required; duplicate names or GSTINs are skipped).
  • A BOM can be imported from Excel in the BOM Builder while it is still a draft.

Common questions

Will importing the same sheet twice create duplicates?

No. A row whose item name already exists is skipped, so you can re-import a corrected sheet without doubling the items that went in the first time.

Is Current Stock in the template added to inventory?

Yes. It is recorded as opening stock for the item, and the item's status is worked out from that stock and the minimum stock you entered.

Can I import vendors and BOMs the same way?

Yes. Masters → Vendors has its own Import Excel (duplicate names or GSTINs are skipped), and the BOM Builder can import a BOM from Excel while the BOM is still a draft.
