Good to know
- The state on a client decides CGST + SGST or IGST on invoices, so fill it in. Check a GSTIN before saving it.
Common questions
Why should I fill the client's state?
The state decides the GST on invoices: if it matches your company's state the invoice carries CGST and SGST, otherwise IGST. A missing or wrong state puts tax under the wrong head.
What are Credit Days and Payment Days?
Credit Days is how long a client has to pay you; Payment Days is how long you take to pay a vendor. They set due dates on invoices and bills, which drive the receivable and payable reports.
Can I check a GSTIN before saving it?
Yes. Use the free GST number check to validate the format, state code, PAN and check digit; confirm the registration status on the GST portal.
