installation management software

Installation management that finishes the job at the customer's site.

Schedule the team, work through the checklist, close every snag and record the handover — on the same project the order started from.

In short

Installation management software tracks the work at a customer's site after dispatch — the team, the checklist, the snags and the handover. In CRE8Rx ERP each installation belongs to a project, snags carry a severity, owner and target date, and the handover records documents, training and warranty, with the project's installation progress updated from it.

For a manufacturer that installs what it makes, the job is not finished at dispatch. The kitchen line, the panel or the machine still has to be erected, connected, tested and handed over, and the customer pays the last instalment only when that is done. It is also where a project is most likely to stall.

Installation usually runs on phone calls. The site team leader has the checklist on paper, the snags are in a WhatsApp group, and the office learns that the handover happened when the team comes back. If a snag is missed, it surfaces months later as a complaint — and the retention money waits until it is fixed.

Installation management software brings that work into the system. Each installation belongs to a project, has a team, a checklist and a snag list, and ends with a recorded handover — so the office can see what is left at every site, and the project's installation progress reflects it.

What you get

Installation schedule

Each installation scheduled against its project with a date, site address, team leader, team members and special instructions.

Status at a glance

Pending, Scheduled, In Progress, Completed or Cancelled for every installation, so the office knows which sites are live today.

Checklist execution

The site team ticks off checklist items as they are done, with a running count of items completed and the installation's progress.

Snag list

Every snag recorded with category, severity (Low to Critical), the person responsible, a target date, the action required and its resolution.

Handover record

Handover date, the client's name and designation, and whether documents were provided, training completed and warranty activated.

Feeds project progress

Installation records drive the Installation bar on the project, so the order's last stage is tracked like every other.

One installation, from schedule to handover

  1. 1Dispatch is complete; the project manager schedules the installation with a date, site address and team leader.
  2. 2On site, the team works through the checklist, ticking items as each is done; progress shows in the office.
  3. 3Two snags are raised — a misaligned hood (High) and a missing drain cap (Low) — each with a person responsible and a target date.
  4. 4Both snags are resolved and closed; the installation is marked Completed.
  5. 5The handover is recorded with the client's name, documents provided, training completed and warranty activated — and the project's Installation bar is full.

Why installation is where projects stall

By the time an order reaches installation, most of the people who worked on it have moved to the next job. The site team is on its own, often in another city, and the only link back to the office is a phone. Small things — a missing gland, a drain at the wrong height, a panel door that does not close — pile up as snags that nobody in the office can see.

Each one is minor. Together they decide whether the customer signs the handover this week or next month, and whether the final payment comes with it.

Snags with an owner and a date

A snag list works when every item has three things: how serious it is, who is fixing it and by when. In CRE8Rx ERP each snag carries a severity from Low to Critical, a responsible person and a target date, and moves through Open, In Progress, Resolved and Closed. The office sees the snags from every site in one list, with their severity and status.

A handover that starts the after-sales record

The handover records who received the installation, on what date, and whether documents, training and warranty were completed. That record is where after-sales begins: service tickets and AMC visits for the customer follow on in the service module, against the same customer and project.

It also closes the loop for the business. A project whose installation is completed and handed over is one accounts can bill in full and sales can use as a reference site, and the snags raised across many installations show where design, packing or dispatch keeps causing the same problem at the customer's site — the kind of pattern that is invisible when every snag lives in a different WhatsApp chat.

What a good installation checklist contains

A checklist is only useful if it is specific to the kind of installation and written before the team reaches the site. For most build-to-order equipment it covers four groups of checks: the site itself (access, foundation or floor level, power, water and drain points where needed), mechanical erection (positioning, levelling, fixing and alignment), connections (electrical, plumbing, gas or ducting, each tested), and commissioning (trial run, safety devices, and the customer's people shown how to operate it).

Writing those items once and reusing them is what turns installation from one experienced team leader's memory into a process a new team can follow. Anything that fails a check becomes a snag with an owner and a date rather than a remark in a phone call, and the installation is complete only when the checklist is done and the snags are closed — which is exactly what the customer will check before signing the handover and releasing the final payment.

Common questions

Questions people ask.

What is installation management software?

Software that schedules and tracks installation work at customer sites — the team, the checklist, the snags and the handover — so the office can see what is left at every site and close projects on time.

Can we track snags at a site?

Yes. Each snag records its category, severity (Low, Medium, High or Critical), the person responsible, a target date, the action required and its resolution, and moves from Open to Closed.

Is installation linked to the project?

Yes. Every installation is scheduled against a project, and installation records drive the project's Installation progress.

What does the handover record contain?

The handover date, the client's name and designation, remarks, and whether documents were provided, training was completed and warranty was activated.

Can the site team update the checklist from a phone?

Yes. CRE8Rx ERP runs in the phone's browser, so the team can open the installation and tick off checklist items on site.

What happens after handover?

After-sales continues in the service module: service tickets and AMC visits are raised against the same customer and project.

What is a snag list?

A list of defects or unfinished items found during installation or at handover — each with how serious it is, who will fix it and by when — that must be cleared before the job is accepted.
