How to Mark Employee Attendance
In short
Go to HR → Attendance → Mark Attendance, choose the employee, date and status, add check-in, check-out, hours worked and overtime, and click Save Attendance. Payroll reads these records: a half day counts as half, leave as paid, and absent as unpaid.

| Steps | 6 |
Step by step
- 1
Open attendance
Go to HR → Attendance and click Mark Attendance.
- 2
Employee and date
Choose the Employee and the Date (both required).
- 3
Status
Choose the Status (required): Present, Absent, Half Day, Leave, Holiday, Week Off, Late or On Leave.
- 4
Times and overtime
Enter Check In and Check Out, Hours Worked and Overtime (hours), and any Remarks.
- 5
Save
Click Save Attendance. Marking the same employee for the same date again updates that day's record instead of adding a second one.
- 6
Review
The Attendance page counts Total Records, Present, Absent and Late; use View, Edit or Delete from a row's menu to correct an entry.
Good to know
- Payroll counts Present as a full day, Half Day as half, Leave as a paid day and Absent as unpaid, and leaves Holiday and Week Off out of the month's working days. Late and On Leave are not counted as paid days, so mark days that should be paid as Present or Leave.
Common questions
What happens if I mark the same day twice?
The second entry updates the first. There is one attendance record per employee per date, so correcting a day never leaves a duplicate.
How is overtime paid?
Payroll adds up the month's Overtime hours and pays them at one and a half times the hourly rate, taken as basic salary divided by 26 days and 8 hours.
Which statuses count as paid days?
Present and Leave count as full days and Half Day as half. Absent is unpaid; Holiday and Week Off are taken out of the working days. Late and On Leave are not counted as paid days by payroll.
