Common questions
When does stock reduce for a material issue?
When you click Issue Materials. The quantity is deducted from the chosen warehouse straight away and recorded in the stock ledger. Save as Draft does not touch stock.
Why is a project required on a material issue?
So the material's cost is charged to the job that used it. Project costing then shows what each order really consumed instead of an estimate.
Can I issue from more than one warehouse at once?
One issue is for one warehouse. If material comes from two stores, make one issue for each warehouse against the same project.
What value is recorded for issued material?
Each line carries the item's rate, and the value is quantity multiplied by rate. That value is what project costing adds to the job.
